Who knew? And why seven? Dr. Seuss's The Seven Lady Godivas (1939)...but you won't see this one at the local bookshop. It was one of his earliest books and it didn't sell well.

Its full title is The Seven Lady Godivas: The True Facts Concerning History's Barest Family and Seuss himself called it his "greatest failure" and "a book that nobody bought" and "It was all full of naked women, and I can't draw convincing naked women. I put their knees in the wrong places." After the book's failure, he turned to writing exclusively for kids.
